Dynamite Montessori was founded to fulfill Dr. Montessori’s ideal: a world of self-actualized human beings living in peace with each other and in harmony with nature.
All of our teachers receive their training and refresher course training from the Association Montessori Internationale, and are committed to the development of each child’s special interests and unique potential.
The primary children actively engage in the construction of their personalities, while the elementary children engage in group work and learn how to execute tasks cooperatively.
In the primary, we offer the “keys to the world.” In the elementary we offer the “keys to the universe,” and set the child free to explore. We are trained to observe the “sensitive periods” for the acquisition of mathematical concepts, culture, and language in the younger years, and to deliver “cosmic lessons” that ignite the imagination of the older children and inspire research.
Our approach to 2nd language learning is a holistic one. This approach completely takes advantage of the young child’s absorbent mind and the sensitive period for grammar of the 7 year old. Children learn Spanish in its entirety, i.e. syntax, accent, vocabulary from native speakers in each class throughout the day in context with regular work and everyday living. Older children receive formal writing and reading lessons. Our goal is fluency by age 12.
In addition to the Montessori curriculum offered, we also educate the body to move gracefully, purposefully, skillfully and confidently. Sports are offered as an option to the primary children, and are a part of our mandatory daily work in the elementary: soccer, tennis and dance is offered weekly.
As a staff, we are committed to excellence, i.e. to the best learning environment for each child.
